Before you start to make your website you need to plan it. You have to think about a few simple things:

What is the site going to be about?

What content do you want on your site?

Who are you going to build you're site with & what program are you going to use?

Programs?

I built my website using Microsoft's FrontPage. I give it a 10/10.

You can also use Microsoft's Publisher. It gets 7/10. If you are a real beginner than this would be a good choice.

Another good program similar to FrontPage is Microsoft's Word! It gets 8/10

There are loads of other website builders around but I tend to stick with Microsoft because they are more compatible.

Recently, however, I've started to use Tripod's online site builder. It gets 10/10

Who are you going to build with?

You can build you're site with your ISP

or

You can build with online sites like Tripod & Geocities

I built my site with Tripod and I recommend it! You can build your site with a Normal Program e.g. FrontPage and FTP it, but it also has an online website builder where you can build a site in a couple of minutes online!
